The U.S. Forest Service is extending the comment period related to oil and gas leasing for the Little Missouri National Grassland due to the recent federal government shutdown.
The agency is working to update its oil and gas leasing direction and is accepting public comments. The new deadline to comment on a draft environmental impact statement is Feb. 20. Originally, the deadline was Jan. 16, but the agency was affected by the shutdown and requested an extension.
