Leak causes brine spill at Williams County well site

A leak caused about 260 barrels, or 10,920 gallons, of brine to spill Wednesday at an oil and gas well in Williams County, according to the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division.

Equinor Energy reported the spill about 6 miles northeast of Williston was caused by a valve leak. The brine was contained on the well site and has been recovered.

A state inspector has been to the location.
