Oil spill reported in McKenzie County

A pipeline leak caused 300 barrels, or 12,600 gallons, of oil to spill at a well site in McKenzie County on Monday, according to the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division.

Oasis Petroleum reported the spill at a well about 8 miles north of Watford City. The oil was contained on the well site and cleanup is underway.

A state inspector has been to the location and will monitor cleanup.
